The 2018-2019 Season officially concluded for the Fever ‘05 Girls - National Team this past weekend at the US Club Soccer National Cup held in Commerce City, CO July 18th-23rd.
During our preseason preparations we set some (3) team goals for ourselves to achieve by the end of the season:
(1.) Win the 2019 Dallas Girls International Cup - (Finalist)
(2.) Win the USYSA National Championship - (Regional Semi-Finalist)
(3.) Win the US Club Soccer National Championship - (Champions)
I’m extremely proud of these girls accomplishments and our ability as a club to provide a competitive environment for players to improve their craft on a weekly basis. Most importantly, I’m proud of “who” we have become on this journey. There were times when we questioned ourselves and wondered if we were on the right path or not. Adversity will teach you a lot about yourself and make you face your greatest fears.
Ultimately, this process has taught me that if a coach and/or team lacks sufficient persistence, they will undoubtedly be unable to complete the critical task of finding growth opportunities out of adversity in the future. In order to succeed you must embrace the adversity and understand this process is where you will find the critical details needed to improve. Once you overcome the fear of struggle....anything is possible.
These players have my utmost respect and I am honored to have the opportunity to coach them during their youth careers. You will always be Champions in my book. BACK 2 BACK US CLUB SOCCER NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!
